City of God Ministries was founded by Apostle John L. Jacobs, III and Pastor Tonia Y. Jacobs in September 2000. City of God Ministries purchased a building in August 2003. City of God Worship Center is located at 1007 South Madison Street, Albany, Georgia. City of God Worship Center was dedicated to the work of the Lord and held its first service in December 2003.
City of God Ministries (COGM) is a ministry with a global mission to empower the world through the Word of God. City of God Ministries is a ministry established for the purpose of building God's Kingdom on earth. We are a five fold ministry operating in the gifts of the Spirit. The ministry is dedicated to preaching and teaching the uncompromised Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are committed to building a people of Prayer, Purpose, Power, Praise, and Prosperity.
Our focus is to equip God's people to walk in the power and authority of Jesus Christ. To empower and equip believers spiritually, educationally, and economically.

Jacobs, III to impact the 21st Century with an Apostolic and Prophetic message of Divine order, healing and deliverance for the end time Church. Many have been saved, healed and delivered from the bondages of life. Several have received financial breakthroughs as they have attended his services. Apostle John L. Jacobs, III was born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry from Talladega College, (Talladega, AL). Apostle Jacobs was licensed to preach in 1993 under Pastor Harold B. Hayes, Jr. and Co-Pastor Kellie V. Hayes, New Liberation AME Church in Landover, Maryland. In 2003 He earned his Master of Divinity Degree from Howard University School of Divinity (Washington, DC).
During Apostle Jacobs' time at Howard University School of Divinity, he met Dr. Joseph Taylor, who was his instructor in the class, "Small Church Development." It was through this meeting that Apostle Jacobs became a part of Faith Fellowship Ministries, Intl. Faith Fellowship Ministries, Intl. is headquartered in Washington, D.C. under the leadership of Bishop Joseph Taylor. In 2003 Apostle Jacobs was appointed by Bishop Taylor to the office of Southeast Regional Overseer. Bishop Taylor played a very vital role in Apostle Jacobs' life and served as a mentor and advisor. God used Bishop Joseph Taylor to help Apostle Jacobs to make the transition from Seminary to Ministry.
Apostle John Jacobs, and his wife, Pastor Tonia Jacobs are the founders of City of God Ministries, an outreach ministry committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide. They are the founders and overseers of City of God Worship Center, located in Albany, Georgia, where he serves as the Senior Pastor. Apostle Jacobs is the father of one son, John IV.
In May of 2006 Apostle John L. Jacobs was Affirmed as an Apostle by His Father in the Ministry, Chief Apostle Dr. Lloyd Benson, Sr. He serves faithfully as The Chief Admiral in World Link of Churches and Ministries, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where Chief Apostle Dr. Lloyd Benson is the Founder and Overseer. He has accompanied Dr. Benson and served on several foreign missions trips including South Africa, and Haiti.
In 2000, Apostle Jacobs released his first book entitled, "Where is the Money: A Godly Perspective To Obtaining Wealth."
Apostle Jacobs is a Pastor, Teacher, Prophet, Author, Entrepreneur, Husband, and Father. He travels extensively across the nation ministering at churches and conferences. Many have testified of being healed of diseases and sicknesses and thousands of people have been greatly impacted by the anointing and power of God that is upon this man of God's life.

Prophetess Tonia Jacobs is a native of Roanoke, Virginia. Prophetess Jacobs, and her husband, Apostle John L. Jacobs, III, are the founders and overseers of City of God Ministries, Inc. Prophetess Jacobs serves as Pastor of City of God Worship Center in Albany, Georgia. She is blessed to serve in a dynamic apostolic and prophetic team ministry with her husband, Apostle John L. Jacobs, III, who is the Senior Pastor of City of God Worship Center. She is the proud mother of one son, John IV.
Prophetess Jacobs received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology, and a minor in City and Regional Planning from Virginia State University. She has taken graduate courses at Howard University School of Divinity and is endeavoring to complete her Masters of Divinity. Pastor Jacobs was licensed to preach in 1995 under Pastor Harold B. Hayes, Jr. and Co-Pastor Kellie V. Hayes, New Liberation African Methodist Episcopal Church, Landover, Maryland. Pastor Jacobs faithfully served on staff and was ordained in 1997. In 2006, Pastor Jacobs was consecrated under the apostolic covering of Apostle Dr. Lloyd Benson, Sr., Presiding Prelate of World Link of Churches and Ministries, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
God's anointed woman of God, who is called and sent by God to make an impact in the 21st century. People have been saved, healed, delivered, and set-free from the bondages that hinder them from living a spirit-filled and victorious life. Prophetess Jacobs is driven by passion to fulfill God's mandate on her life. She is an intercessor and worshipper, who is sent by God to operate in a prophetic anointing of warfare, worship and praise. Tonia Jacobs is a Pastor, Teacher, Entrepreneur, Wife, and Mother. She has traveled, evangelizing, preaching and teaching at churches and conferences throughout the United States, as well as, facilitating workshops and seminars. She continues to be active with women's groups, cross-denominational churches, and professional groups to empower, encourage, and promote unity and restoration.
Pastor Jacobs is the founder and president of Kingdom Agape Outreach Ministries (KAOMI), an evangelistic and empowerment outreach ministry. Presently, she is laying the groundwork for MercyHOPE, a collaborative program.
